Fairbury Furniture is owned and operated by a local couple, Rick and Jeanne Wilson. They have been married thirty-nine years, have four children and three grandchildren. They moved to the area 21 years ago from Aurora, Illinois. They have a strong Christian faith and are members of the Truth Tabernacle Church in Pontiac. Their family, faith, and community are important to them.
Fairbury Furniture is located in the old historic Walton Bros. Building in beautiful downtown Fairbury, Illinois. The 2-story building consists of a 20,000 sq. ft. furniture showroom including a recent addition of the WC Market that carries home décor and gifts. Just a few doors down you will find the Fairbury Furniture Mattress store which they operate as well.
Rick was a mechanical engineer by trade for many years. He is involved in the Fairbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Chairman of the City Planning Commission, Shop Local, and he also teaches adult bible class at their church. He is also a part of the John Maxwell Team Leadership Development for the past five years.
Jeanne is very talented in decorating, managing, and keeping things organized. She has had previous experience in managing a clothing store, Midwest homes in Chenoa and she worked for the previous owners of Fairbury Furniture.
They have had full ownership of the building for seven years and had previously co-owned the building from 2011 until they took over full ownership in 2013. Fairbury Furniture carries a wide variety of recliners, sofas, accent chairs, tables, lamps, rugs, beds, mattresses and decorative pillows.
While shopping at Fairbury Furniture be sure to check out the latest addition of the WC Market. The WC Market is managed by Kathy Kupferschmid. Kathy was the owner of the Antique Shoppe, that is now the Spotted Owl, located on route 24. Kathy’s former employee Kathy Ladeairous now assists with buying product and helps with displays throughout the store. The two Kathy’s attend trade shows together to find unique and interesting items to bring into the store.
The two ladies are very talented when it comes to decorating. They both have a great eye for detail. The WC Market carries gifts and home décor including mirrors, shelves, wall décor, clocks, lanterns, baskets, kitchen items, greenery, vases, jewelry, scarves, and seasonal items.
